(Pwn2Own) Microsoft Windows PFFOBJ::bDeleteLoadRef Font Use-After-Free Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Windows. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of fonts. The issue lies in the failure to remove references to a font after freeing associated resources. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute code within the context of SYSTEM.
