Delta Industrial Automation COMMGR DVP Simulator Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Delta Industrial Automation COMMGR. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the processing of TCP packets sent to the DVP Simulator. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of the COMMGR process.
