Cisco Data Center Network Manager CablePlans XML External Entity Processing Information Disclosure Vulnerability

January 3rd, 2020

Vulnerability Details

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Cisco Data Center Network Manager. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed.

The specific flaw exists within the processing of requests to rest/cable-plans/import. Due to the improper restriction of XML External Entity (XXE) references, a specially crafted document specifying a URI causes the XML parser to access the URI and embed the contents back into the XML document for further processing. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to disclose stored credentials, leading to further compromise.
