Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Synology DiskStation DS1823xs+ devices. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of command data in the libsynobtrfsreplicacore.so.7 module. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a write past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root.
