(Pwn2Own) QNAP TS-464 Log Tool SQL Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

Vulnerability Details

This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of QNAP TS-464 devices. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the handling of command line arguments. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to construct SQL queries. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of admin.
