SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor Profiler Module UserDefinedFieldConfigServlet SQL Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

April 28th, 2016

Vulnerability Details

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor Profiler Module. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within processing of the UserDefinedFieldConfigServlet servlet in the SolarWinds Storage Manager Web Services web server. The parameters udfName, displayName, udfDescription, udfDataValue and udfSectionName are vulnerable to SQL injection when the parameter udfState is set to saveUDF and the parameter UDFInternalState is set to editUDF. This allows an attacker to run arbitrary code as SYSTEM.
